Park Lake, located directly across the street (on the east side of Dee Rd), is slightly smaller but enjoys all the same lakefront perks as Murphy Lake. Both offer residents the ability to own and use non-motor boats (canoes, pedal boats, etc.), go swimming and fishing, and enjoy other Summertime activities.

Murphy Lake offers unique homes, representing a wide range of time periods and styles. The biggest difference between these homes and the rest of Park Ridge – other than the lake – is the size and price, which skew higher than the average. However, Park Lake has one condo building, Vista del Lago, which offers a more affordable way to live on a lake.

One of the greatest selling features of Park Ridge, in general, are the schools. Living on Murphy Lake, kids will go to Carpenter Elementary, Lincoln Middle, and Maine South High School. Additionally, you can walk to the Des Plaines River Trail for a picnic, biking, or walking, the Wildwood Nature Center, Maine Park Leisure Center, and Dee Road Metra station.
