“If you can afford 1 square foot of land in Park Ridge, you should buy it.”
That was the advice given to me by my former boss (Paul) in 1979 while I was living and working in Chicago.
Paul convinced us that Park Ridge – “the bedroom community” – adjacent to the city, with excellent schools and charming housing mix, was just the place to raise a family. 36 years later, I still think it was the best 59k I ever spent.
About Me
My favorite childhood toy was building blocks – and to be honest, I had some skills.
After studying architecture and psychology in college, I learned the craft of carpentry while working for a housing contractor. During that time that I also earned my real estate license and started selling houses part time. It was my work in both professions that developed my passion for service and love of sales.
Ultimately, I ran my own contracting business while selling real estate for 15 years before deciding to pursue real estate full time in 1992. I started working as a Broker Associate with RE/MAX Properties Northwest in Park Ridge, and that’s where I’ve been ever since.
Throughout the years of my career, my biggest cheerleaders have been my wife of 35+ years, our three fantastic children, and two perfect grandchildren.
In my free time, I work for Habit for Humanity and Solid Rock Carpenters, partnering with would-be homeowners to repair and build houses.
How I Can Help You
Start here: I find it essential to spend time at the onset, to get to know my clients, to help them define their needs and desires, and to understand what really matters to them, if they are buying, selling, or renting.
Buying
The Search: If I’ve done a good job at the onset, looking at properties will be focused, enjoyable, and fruitful. My construction experience and market knowledge assure my clients of educated showings. Through a contractor’s lens, I see things the average buyer will not see.
The Sale: Attention to details can make or break a sale. I walk my clients through every step of the contract and negotiations, property inspection, attorney review, securing the mortgage, right on through to the closing.
Selling
Ready for Show: Careful and realistic market evaluation, tried and true advice on what makes a house market ready, coupled with professional marketing, including the respect afforded the RE/MAX brand, provide a winning combination for a successful house sale.
It ain’t over til it’s over: Details are just as important from the selling end, which is why I closely follow every step from listing, to signed contract, to closing, for my sellers.
In short, I worry about all of the details so you don’t have to, including coordinating lenders, attorneys, realtors, and even contractors, when needed!
Renting
The knowledge and expertise, as well as attention to detail, that I bring to my buyers and sellers, easily apply to finding the desired space, at the right price, in the preferred area, for renters.
My goal is always to provide exceptional service and excellent results, culminating in happy buyers, sellers, and renters.
