South Park Homes for Sale

South Park Park Ridge IL

About the South Park Area

When looking for homes for sale in Park Ridge, South Park is an area you’ll want to look into. Like most neighborhoods in Park Ridge, there are no strict boundaries; however, if a home is within 6 blocks of the Park, located on Cumberland Ave., in between Devon Ave. and Talcott Rd., I’d say you’re in the South Park neighborhood.

As the name suggests, one of the big advantages of living in South Park is the close proximity to South Park itself. This expansive area holds an ice-skating rink in the Winter and football and cheerleading practice in the Summer… and the grassy space is just the beginning! You’ll also be able to enjoy tennis courts, a kiddie pool, a playground that’s perfect for small children, Kalina Field, and the South Park Rec Center where you can make use of a gymnastic room, martial arts room, and large event/meeting space.

Just steps from the park, you’ll find a handful of shops, restaurants, and other businesses. A few favorites? Well, you’ve got to love being so close to the ever-popular, always convenient Walgreens. But for a bite to eat, I recommend Shawarma Inn and Canton Tea Garden.

Lastly, the South Park area is home to Roosevelt Elementary School, part of the prize School District 64, as well as South Park Community Church and Mary, Seat of Wisdom Parish and School. There really is so much to walk to, and that’s what makes this area great!

Like most of Park Ridge, you’ll find houses of every style, age, and price. Specific to the South Park area, there are not just very old houses and very new houses, but a lot of “in-between” age homes (built in the 1930s-1970s), that you won’t see as much of in other neighborhoods.

If walkability is important to you, you’ll definitely want to check out South Park!

Testimonials

Keith is tremendously knowledgeable about the community, the schools, and the market. He listened to our needs and budget and only showed us houses that would work for us. We ended up buying the second house we saw and we couldn't be happier! Thanks again, Keith!
